Death toll now 40 in Synagogue building collapse, NEMA says
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) says the loss of life in the Synagogue Church building fall in the Ikotun zone of Lagos has climbed to 40.
"It's presently 40 dead," NEMA southwest organizer Ibrahim Farinloye, told AFP by instant message.
124 individuals have so far been safeguarded alive from the rubble of the building said to be a guesthouse for remote supporters of the congregation. The building caved in as development work was happening to raise the 2-story building to a five story building.
