Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, last week fled Liberia over fears of contracting the Ebola virus. The actor posted a photo of himself exiting the country saying
” Monrovia, unfinished biz; Leavin tonite. Nt ignominious to admit tis ish scares the Jesus outta me. #Ebola!!!!”
His post was optically discerned by lots of people as erroneous and callous.
The actor has relinquished a verbal expression of apology. Read below.
May I humbly apologize if my comments on Ebola – predicated on fear – were taken out of context. The last thing I wanted to do was to alarm anyone.
My heart goes out to all the families who have been affected by the Ebola virus – those who have lost their lives or doted ones, those who are still stoutheartedly fighting the disease and all of the communities who are battling to keep the infection under control.
