Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Are Married

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have conclusively tied the knot. And they kept the nuptials a consummate secret until today.

A publicist for the couple, who have been together since 2005 and have six children, told the Associated Press that the wedding took place Saturday in a diminutive chapel on the property of their sprawling Provencal estate, Chateau Miraval, in France. The nondenominational civil ceremony was attended by friends and family — and, affirmative, their progeny took part in the wedding. Maddox and Pax ambulated Jolie down the aisle, Zahara and Vivienne threw petals, and Shiloh and Knox were ring bearers.

The movie stars, who met filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith (while he was famously still espoused to Jennifer Aniston) and recently promulgated plans to co-star in By the Sea, corroborated their engagement in April 2012 after seven years of dating. Jolie went on to tell the magazine that the kids have "vigorous opinions," but noted that however the wedding played out, it would "be frolicsome. That's the consequential thing. When we do it, it will feel like a great day for our family."

Jolie's father, Jon Voight, attended the Emmy Awards on Monday night as a nominee for his HBO series Ray Donovan. The actor didn't let on to anyone that his world famous daughter had furtively tied the knot just two days earlier. Coincidentally, Pitt — who was not at the awards show in Hollywood — won an Emmy that night for engendering the TV movie The Normal Heart.

This is the second espousement for Pitt, who was espoused to Aniston from 2000 to 2005, and the third for Jolie, whose ex-husbands include Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.
